Meet Mindy

When Mindy Guzman first walked through the doors of IMPACT Community Action, she wasn’t looking for a new career.

She needed help with her utilities.

But that initial connection introduced Mindy to something more: IMPACT’s workforce development services and a path toward a new opportunity she had begun to wonder was still possible for her.

Mindy was determined. She knew she was capable and wanted more for herself and her family. But after experiencing setbacks and carrying the responsibilities of raising her three children, there were moments when doubt and fear made it difficult to see what was possible.

IMPACT saw her potential.

Through workforce training, career preparation, individualized support, and encouragement, Mindy began rebuilding her confidence and people skills while preparing for her next opportunity. Through IMPACT’s partnership with JPMorgan Chase, her skills were matched with an employment opportunity that fit her strengths.

Mindy took the chance.

She was hired by JPMorgan Chase as an Electronic Money Movement Specialist, beginning a career that would change the direction of her life. Over the next three years, she continued learning and developing professionally, received specialized training and support, and advanced to become a Fraud Specialist.

Today, Mindy has more than a job.

She has a career. She has greater stability. She has continued to grow personally and professionally. And she has become an advocate who encourages others facing the same doubts and uncertainty she once experienced.

“IMPACT helped me get to the road. Then it became my responsibility to walk it.”

Mindy walked it. And she is still moving forward.
