What is the Sojourn Women’s Empowerment Initiative?
The Sojourn Women’s Empowerment Initiative is one of IMPACT’s newest workforce development programs. Designed to support women in their journey to self-sufficiency by providing workforce development soft skills training and certificate programming.
What is the purpose of the Sojourn Women’s Initiative?
Participants will acquire soft workforce skills and have access to community resources. They will partake in mock interviewing and receive certificate/certification training. In addition to academic assistance, we also focus on personal development by providing a safe space for young people to have crucial conversations
What are the program requirements?
Single Female Head of Household
Completion of High School Diploma/GED Certification
Between the ages of 21 – 55
Income Qualified
Looking to seek a career certification training
Willing to conduct in-person training
How many participants can join the Sojourn Program?
Only 20 participants will be accepted into the Sojourn Program.

Attend one weekly virtual info session, scheduled for Fridays

What do I need to bring with me to intake?
An ID (Driver’s License, or State ID)
Income for the past 90 days (if applicable)
Social Security Card for yourself and dependents

When does the Sojourn Women’s Empowerment Program meet?
The Sojourn Program meets weekly
On Tuesdays and Wednesday participant will meet in person for training from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday evenings.
Is transportation to the Sojourn Program?
We have limited ability to provide transportation. Please contact us directly to find out more information.
What is the commitment of the Sojourn Program?
Participants should be prepared to commit to the Sojourn program for a total of 7 months.
Does the Sojourn Program cost?
No! There is no cost to join IMPACT’s Sojourn Women’s Empowerment Initiative.
