The Employment Plus Program
Training
IMPACT Community Action has designed an intensive work readiness certification program tailored specifically for customers who are disengaged from the workforce and need basic knowledge in order to return to entry level employment opportunities and beyond. The Employment Plus Program is a 120 hour, stipend subsidized course accelerated over four consecutive weeks, with a prerequisite requirement of one week computer literacy classes prior to entering the program. The Employment Plus Program assists individuals with enhancing their professional development skills and provides opportunities for each participant to improve communication and customer service skills.
Job Coaching
Job Coaches develop employability plans along with the participant and collectively devise an action plan that becomes the blueprint for the path to employment, retention and promotion. Job Coaching is a process by which the coach provides effective and constructive feedback on the customer’s performance of learned skills. Job Coaches support the customer in setting appropriate goals and methods of assessing progress in relation to these goals. Each participant is coached to creatively apply tools and techniques through one on one training, facilitating, counseling and networking on or off the job.
Employer Relations
Once the plan is developed and the career and job path is chosen, skills are assessed and the client is ready to re-enter or be introduced to the workforce. The job coach works closely with the Employer Relations Manager in order to identify job placement opportunities.
