IMPACT Computer Literacy Program

 IMPACT's Mission is to provide hope-inspiring help and real opportunities for self-sufficiency. One of the elements of  achieving this mission is the Computer Literacy Program.

The goal of the Computer Literacy Program is to provide basic computer skills for an individual to become competitive within today's employment and educational environment.

The Computer Literacy Program is a FREE accelerated five-day program from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; in which the following topics will be covered in a basic format:

  • Computer Basics with Windows XP
  • Microsoft Word 2007
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2007
  • Microsoft Excel 2007

"Platinum Plus"  - this program is  specifically designed to address the needs of our students  ages 55 years and older . It concentrates on learning the Windows XP operating system, and the Microsoft Office Word 2007 application.

TEACHING FORMAT:

The learning is a combination of online tutorials with module quizzes, pre-tests, and real-time application; with the administration of a comprehensive final examination. An overall (pre-tests, quizzes and final examination) grade of 75% or better is required in order for any participant to receive a Certificate of Completion of the Computer Literacy Program.
