What is the IMPACT Health – Medical Assistant Program?

IMPACT Healthcare - Medical Assistant program allows eligible Franklin County residents to complete the Medical Assisting program and kickstart their career into the medical field. At the end of the training, participants will receive 4 credentials: Phlebotomy, EGK Technician, Patient-Care/Multi-Skilled Technician, and Medical Assistant.

How long is the Medical Assistant Program?

The IMPACT Healthcare Medical Assistant is approximately 15 weeks long.

Will the training be provided virtually or in-person?

Training will occur using a hybrid method. Live learning sessions will occur virtually using the platform WebEx while the Skills Training will occur safely in-person at the Larock Healthcare Academy facility. 

How do I know if I qualify for this training?

Eligibility for all Empowerment Services programs is determined based on the individual’s household income. To determine eligibility, individuals must schedule an intake appointment by calling 614-453-1659.

Can I complete my intake appointment over the phone?

At this time, intake appointments are required to be done in person. Individuals are required to bring the following:

  • State-issued Driver’s license or I.D

  • Social Security Card (including those of any spouse or dependents)

  • 30 days Proof of Income

I have been out of work for the last 30 days. Could I still join the program?

Yes, even if you haven’t had income in the last 30 days. Individuals would be required to complete a separate form and show how they have been surviving within the last 30 days.

What documentation is needed for the intake appointment?

  • State-issued Driver’s license or I.D

  • Social Security Card (including those of any spouse or dependents)

  • 30 days Proof of Income

How do I sign up?

The first step towards signing up is to complete our Workforce Development Programs interest form linked HERE. This information will be sent to a Workforce Development Staff member to send you information regarding the next steps.

If I can’t attend the next training, will there be more?

Yes! Please see the tentative schedule below for future sessions:

  • June 14th

  • July 23rd

Are there any pre-requisites for the training?

Yes, all individuals are required to take our Connections Soft Skills training. Once you complete the interest form, details about the training will be provided at a later time.

Will I receive a stipend as I complete the training?

Yes, participants will receive a weekly $200.
